Travel Packing List

A friend sent me this GENERAL LIST.  You can certainly tailor it to your own particular needs.  

Often, visitors to the Caribbean are very uncertain as to what they should pack to the islands.  Veteran travelers may recommend that a woman should pack any and everything that they THINK they may need, then remove half out of the luggage and leave the non-contenders at home.  At times, this advice can be right on, in a climate where the majority of the year it is hot and humid and many of the items could be used elsewhere, most of the times are not necessary while on the islands.  Though once on the island, you will come to realize that it is much a style and fashion show where ever, when ever.   Review the checklist and use it as a guide to remind yourself what you many want to take; however, not necessarily what you may need.

Personally, the way I pack, may be seen as a very anal way to pack, however, it works for me.  Very much into the way I look, I'm not one for following the "fashion trends" etc, I believe once it fits, I look amazing in it, even if it's from my mom's time, Circa 1955, I do not care, I will wear it.  Your basics are necessary: travel documents, currency, breathable fabrics, cottons, linens etc. sandals, pair of heels (if you are so inclined), evening wear, few accessories, and of course swimsuits.  My method of packing is, I breakdown what I'll wear daily, and label them, (I know anal, but it works), figuring at least 2-3 outfits a day, consider taking interchangeable pieces, makes your bag much lighter.
