Selecting PANTYHOSE TO PLAY MAS.Trini

A commenter by the name of Kore suggested this post, now, I am not going to go into all the different brands of hosiery out there and test them out etc...but what I will do is tell you what has worked for me and friends of mine.

Now ladies, ladies, ladies, ladies let's run through this again.

When purchasing hosiery to wear at Carnival, you want to make sure and purchase sheer-to-the-waist, low rise hoses.

Having never felt the need to wear pantyhose with my costume at anytime, I thought I'd try it out at Caribana.  I flew into Wal-mart and selected basically whatever they had, I believe it was the Secret brand sheer to the waist, they had a bit of shimmer to them as seen here.  It was great throughout however when some over zealous woman rushing to get her lunch, her costume grazed me and big huge hole on my ass.   Also, check gold at Carnival 2010 on Mon.

 WHY Sheer-to-the-waist?
Answer:  Waistbands are rather skimpy and fit very low, therefore when you are selecting hosiery you want to hide the  fact that you are indeed wearing one and give the illusion that you are as perfect as the hose is making those legs and butt feel as well as look.

Exhibit A:  This is DO
  • Do select a hose that matches your complexion, one can always go a shade darker but one can hardly lighten.
  • Do select a sheer-to-the-waist.  Mainly because you don't need to see an extra pantyline even a pantyhose line under your bikini or thong.
  •  A little shimmer is good, by no means are you to go super shiny and really opaque.  Super shiny leave them for the Solid Gold dancers, Opaque hoses are for winter time, and are not suitable for the road.
  • Do select the proper size.  This means no lying about your weight when selecting.
  • You may certainly select the "dancer" hose, that may stand up to your consistent palancing and at times dragging butts on the floor.  *However, rub against very sharp, and well, you know what will be.*
In my quest to find a pair for Carnival I turned to google.ca and came across a flood of sites, naturally as you can imagine, it's a bit overwhelming.  So, I narrowed my search and came upon LegLuxe.com and what caught my eye was a review by a woman from NYC:  And I quote:

"Low Rise Solidea were the best stockings ever"
"Low Rise Solidea were the best mas stockings ever. I wore them for Carnival in Trinidad this year (2k6) and they lasted all day into the night no rips or runs. The extra added bonus was that it actually matched my skin completion perfectly.... Will order another pair for next year...Thanks "

Yes, their hoses are pricey, but, well worth it, besides, I will try anything once.  So, I've ordered my hose and it matches my skin PERFECTLY!  I can't even tell that I'm wearing any, and the waistband fits PERFECTLY!

So ladies please NO MORE OF this kind of stuff ok...in this day and age it's really NOT necessary! Wear those types of hoses under your pants and skirts etc, but when you're in your costume, do please keep your DIVANESS up to code please!!  YUMA's costumes are pure fiya, let's not bring them down by doing all this wrogness please!

EXHIBIT B: NO
  • NO FISHNET OR LARGE BOX PANTYHOSE
  • NO FULL BOTTOM PANTYHOSE WITH THONGS AND OR SHORTS
  • NO SHINY OPAQUES
I know some of you are saying, "well who the hell do you think you are telling people what to wear and how to wear it."

I'm not telling you you MUST follow these guidelines, but, IF you are infact the grand Mas Diva that you claim you are, then you must know that it only makes sense to keep the beautification steady and always on point!!

Happy Carnival!!
