1. Saw a costume you liked/loved, but it was out of your price range?
2. Saw a costume and you just were not able to get it, so you had to settle for a backline?
3. While on the road were aggressively resentful to another who was in the costume of your choice?
If your answers are YES to any or ALL of the three questions, then you have FRONTLINE ENVY.
How does one combat Frontline Envy? It's simple, GET A FRONTLINE COSTUME.
IF there is a LOT of talk about a particular section, and words such as, "THE IT SECTION" or "HOT GYAL SECTION", are peppering conversations, then chances are it's best to become friends with someone who can register you in said "IT SECTION" come registration time. And or make sure your funds are primed and ready for the initial deposit. Because, when you're on the road and surrounded by your first choice, it will hurt :).
MAS SEGREGRATION this is when a masquerader from a particular section acts like a Navy Seal whose prime objective is to keep sections separated and gets upset when other non-section masqueraders, not non-band members, but a masquerader from the same band but different section is jumping up in their section.
Lol, get a grip people! If you're not on the stage and it's not at a judging point, SO WHAT? Have ah time, is CARNIVAL!!!

I have an overwhelming amount of Frontline envy, and I am not ashamed to say it. I felt to just tug at headpieces and backpacks as I was moving through the band on Tuesday :(
