Pamper your feet weekly with a Mint Scrub and Soak

Guaranteed after Carnival your feet will be begging you for mercy, crying out to the heavens for saving.  This is what works for me and what I do before and after Carnival.  Now this does not guarantee that your feet will not suffer, but, they will not suffer greatly!

  1. Weekly mint soakings.  If you don't maintain your feet with regular pedicures, start with a weekly soak and scrub.  (See below)
  2. When purchasing boots I know round toe looks great, however, consider a square toe so that your toes will have extra room to be comfortable and now squished.
  3. Considering playing mas in high HEELS, reconsider.  Your feet cannot take that bashing in those killer heels.  Do not go 4-6 inches on the road!  That is just unheard of torture. Consider a heel with more structure which will give you more sturdiness.  Consider the PS-GOGO knee high 3" heel boots... and they come in a variety of colors.
  4. Break in your boots prior to Carnival.  (Wear it, let your feet shape the boot)
  5. I cannot stress this enough, I am a believer in these products, purchase them, not just for your palancin' but everyday "Dr. Scholl's Massaging Insoles or Dr. Scholl's for her, Dr Scholl for her 16 hr insole
  6. Chipping can really take a toll on toes, with the constant jamming against the front of the boot.  Purchase at least a 1/2 larger than your regular size also helps as well as Tip Toes Cushions. 
 Once again, not everything will work for everyone, however, by giving your feet weekly scrubs and soaks your feet will be softer and therefore will be less likely to be totally destroyed when you take those shoes off on Carnival Tuesday night Ash Wednesday morning!


Instructions
Things You'll Need:
  • 1/2 c sea salt
  • 3 slices lime
  • 10 mint leaves
  • 5 drops essential lime oil
  • 3 limes
  • 2 tbsp white sugar
  • 1 tbsp sweet almond oil
  • 15 mint leaves chopped
  • 5 drops lime essential oil
  1. Create a bath soak for your feet by filling a basin half way with warm water. Add into it 1/2 c sea salt, 3 slices of lime, 10 mint leaves and 5 drops of essential lime oil.
  2. Leave your feet feeling zingy with a touch of lime.

    To create your scrub, cut your 3 limes into small pieces and beat to a pulp using a food processor.
  3. Place limes in a small bowl and add to it sugar, sweet almond oil, chopped mint and essential lime oil. Mix well.
  4. Place your feet in basin to soak for 5 to 10 minutes.
  5. Remove feet from basin and apply foot scrub in a circular motion on the tops and bottoms of your feet. Pay special attention to the ball of your foot as well as your heel.
  6. Remove scrub with a damp warm cloth and dry.

    After the scrub and you dry your feet, be sure to apply a MINT foot lotion to sooth and calm your feet.
