YUMA has set their distribution date...

What's that peeps?  Feb.25.11 you're gonna be running down to the mas camp all in a tizick to collect your costume, because the sheeer volume of excitement has simply overtaken your very soul! Lol, yes, that's super great.  BUT, I say, for those of you who are WEAK and who WILL NOT or CANNOT WAIT until Mar.7-8 to put on those costumes, I have two pieces of advice:
  1. If you do collect your costume, after you have tried it on the ONE time to make sure it fits etc...after that day the next time you should put on your costume should be Mon or Tuesday.
  2. And secondly, If you are one of those who just can't wait, may I suggest to collect your cosutme in MARCH.  Cause some of all yuh, and I'm not naming any names...., if you do put on that costume, heaven can't get you out of it and it's gonna be destroyed come Carnival Mon. and Tues.  *then some of you will complain how the costumes were not make properly and blah blah blah...yuh know how some of you can be?
Doh look at what I wrote as if it's schupidness, cause you KNOW it to be true....don't you TIFFANY GEORGE!! Lol

OOPS, sorry, said I wasn't going to name any names....lol

Advice from YUMA Vibe....

Yuma Vibe

is advising that before you make any payment to persons for a "resold costume" call/email the camp to verify that person is actually registered & that such a costume was actually purchased from YUMA. We are aware of alleged attempts to defraud potential YUMAs. If a person says they are from YUMA - email the camp to verify as well. Info@yumavibe.com. Be careful! Get Identification as well.
Listen to them peeps, I was one when someone went to the camp pretending to be me....lol.

Glitteratti Bootaratti

There is definitely a market out there for decorating boots and as MANY of you know who are seasoned masqueraders, when it comes to your sexy expesive costume, only the BEST looking footwear is "THE" perfect compliment to that already gorgeous costume.  But, no matter how good another may be, nothing beats doing it yourself!

Today I feature my girl, Kla, who is a proud member of the Taurus Frontline League in YUMA, is on a mission for creating her dynamic, yet simple boots for Monday and Tuesday....*she has one final coat to finish.*

To all the women who will be "Advantageous" on stage and stomping to their hearts content and are hooking up their sexy footwear for themselves, I bow to you all!!

WELL DONE Kla!!

    Airbrushing for Carnival

Has anyone gotten airbrushing in the past? I have never gotten it, I've seen many and at times I think some people get wayyyy too much done and it looks all out of sorts when their costume is on.

Are you a Masquerader who gets Airbrushed?

Share your Tale from the beginning, from the very first sensation of the airbrushing, and how you felt after?
    • Does your skin feel tight or comfortable?
    • Does it flake or rub off?
    • Does it last from through the mayhem you put it through?
    • Will you be getting airbrushed for your YUMATION?

Questions answered by YUMA's Official PR

    Good-day YUMARADERS,

On behalf of the Contributors of This Blog, we would like to thank all of your inquiries regarding YUMA, do keep your questions coming, for we would do our very best to get your questions answered.

We have a lot in store for this simple FAN Blog of YUMA, so follow us, and find us on Facebook.

See you on the road for 2K11.  Now, onto the questions.

    1. What are the difficulties, if any, in bringing a design from a sketch to reality? eg. Materials envisioned versus actual materials used.
Our design team is dynamic and very experienced so they sketch but have a good sense of what's available on the market before sketches are completed. The designers actually sketch but we ALL work together to bring a product to completion. It is a team effort - production, committee members and even a few external parties all have a part to play in the critique process, tweaking a design from start to end until we have a finished product that can appeal to a cross section of masqueraders.

    2. How does a designer/team come up with concept and execution of said concept?
Our YUMA team is a visionary one. Just like our YUMAs seem to sleep & eat carnival, we live it year round. So we are already working on next year's themes and concepts. The earlier we start, the easier it is. There are a variety of steps, designs and supplier conversations occur nearly simultaneously to allow an efficient, and most importantly masquerader friendly experience.

    3. Is YUMA team ready to provide fresh, new, innovative costumes for 2K12 and onward?
    Hellz YES!

‎4. Would the band design costumes for plus size madames?
YUMA designs costumes for confident women of all sizes and shapes. For those preferring more conservative options, once we are contacted EARLY custom costumes are available where our team can work with you to create something wonderful - just for you.

    5. If a design is created and falls short, what steps are taken behind the scenes to either recreate or improve?
Our designs are crtiqued numerous times with various audiences before they go public. Tweaks and changes are done and then we launch.

    6. Who is the brainchild behind designs? One person per 2/3 sections or a large team adding thoughts/ideas per costume?
We have a design and production team with over 30 years of combined mas making experience including Crystal Aming, Gina Maingot and Richard and Anthony Designs.

    Winin' Stance

Observe from this blast from the past...didn't get a pic of her legs, but guaranteed that it's planted firmly with knees slightly bent, back straight, shoulders back, chest out and yuh flinging waist!

Second: flag in one hand, drink in another and the wonderful head ever so slightly to the side and or looking back as you are in your winin' zone :)

What's that, There will be a STAGE?

Well, my friend called me today screaming into the phone, and when she settled down this is what she said, "we are getting a f@cking stage can you frigging believe it?". Then she hung up and disappeared as quickly as she appeared.
Then I check fassbook, I seeing peeps commenting on stage...well yes!!

That pent up energy that's felt as you are lined up right before the security drops hands and you rush to the center of the stage and or to the tv, and publications hoping you get on the cover of some magazine and or newspapers.

Do you realize what madness that will be on Monday & Tuesday with a STAGE!?

OOh goud I love it, and CANNOT wait!  For 4 years we have bawled, moaned, cried, and wailed over the lost of our awesome stage, now, we happy.  It had better be reality for 2k11.
2K11 will be like the year of "Footsteps" when peeps just would not leave the stage. After all the years of no stage this is going to be like, "great SEX!".

YUMA, your first year and you have a STAGE!! Wooosah, NOW fuh SURE if plans were in the works to not cross, CHANGE THEM!! Lewweeee go!!

    Inspiration

Amazing the things you find when you are cleaning. This is one of my Barbie's short outfit.
I just love it. I showed it to my friend and she's making one for her to wear on Carnival Monday.

    Headpieces

I had recently asked YUMA a question regarding the sturdiness of the headpieces, the response is as follows:

    "Hi Oracle,

Thanks for writing! The headpiece worn for the YUMA band launch was a prototype that designers use as an example for duplication purposes. The headpiece you shall be receiving will be stronger to withstand the effects of the wind and all your wining ;)

    Best Regards,

    Team YUMA"

Ok, so ladies, with this response I am expecting a grand headpiece that WILL and CAN the winds of Morocco and the wining style of all who wear them!
